League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena video game.
League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena where teams of players compete for dominance, selecting from a growing cast of over 90 uniquely powerful champions. Over 32 million players each month play the game to engage in session-based, multiplayer battles against rival teams, with more than 12 million players enjoying League of Legends every day.
The Mac client does everything that the PC client does, meaning you’ll get all future features, bug fixes and new content on the same schedule as PC players, but on your native OS. The Cross-Platform team will also continue working diligently to smash any Mac bugs that surface during the open beta.
What’s new in version 26.1
- Welcome to a brand new season of League of Legends! We've got a plethora of far-reaching changes in this patch so if you don't want to read thousands of words, here's a brief overview: Strategic gameplay moves toward turret pushing and away from epic monster contests with tuning changes and the brand-new Crystalline Overgrowth. Role power is rebalanced, with brand-new Role Quests for each role. New vision mechanics to learn and master await you with Faelights. New items for each class yearn for a new home in your inventory, plus most champions' base crit damage is now 200%. Ranked play has new changes to reduce the pain of auto-filling. I decided to give the current version a go and despite still saying ”Mac beta” in the lower left corner while the game was loading I must say the developers have done a good job improving the Mac version! I used to get quite heavy frame rate drops as soon as there was some action in game – now everything seemed to stay smooth no matter the amount of action and that with all graphics settings maxed out on my Mac Pro (Mid 2010) with a GTX 1070 graphics card running High Sierra 10.13.6. A relatively beefy hardware config, but still – good to see things are going in the right direction! :)
